Walt Whitman's Spider Poetry

When I was a senior in high school, I competed in a poetry recitation competition, in which I had to choose three verses from different eras and recite them. The premier numbers that I chose was Walt Whitmans A Noiseless, Patient Spider. I get across assemblyt quite recall why I chose it, I think I lossed to do Oh lord! My overlord but it was too long. I remember sitting in my coachs classroom, repeating occupancy after airwave, enunciating separately and every syllable until I was blue in the face. The hard Ts o n little, promontory, it, stood, isolated, to, vacant, vast; exploring every possible indorsement to make each filament distinct from the other 2. In fact, the entire first stanza is full of hard Ts making the idea of the spider still intimidating and gone coming in with the second stanza to make it seem hardworking and almost endearing. Whitman also dos repetition to his advantage, and often; markd, filament, ever, surrounded, till, O my Soul.so many repeated phrases and words that at first seemed redundant but ultimately reach out to make an impact and bring his point about the spider, and himself, across perfectly. His use of language is absolutely awe-inspiring in the second stanza, beautifully pairing words to make gasp-inducing phrasing. The first time I read the poem, the language struck me most; Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing. That line really brings across the spiders struggle to gallop its web, how quickly it must move and how often it might betray but still never gives up.
